Should you turn off the engine when parking for a short time? Does it consume fuel?
Nowadays, more and more families are using cars, and civilized driving and parking are closely tied to our daily lives. However, certain misconceptions and improper parking habits during driving not only lead to unnecessary waste but also cause environmental pollution. Today, Mr. Qingjie is going to share with you some fuel-saving tips from experienced drivers. Is it true that repeated engine starts consume more fuel than idling at a stop? No! Then, do we really need to turn off the engine for short stops? When stopping at an intersection and waiting to proceed, you should judge the duration of your stop based on the traffic light timer. If your stop lasts longer than one minute, you should turn off the engine. Generally speaking, the fuel consumed by a small car idling is actually greater than the fuel used when restarting the engine.

How should opened motor oil be stored?
“How long can the remaining half of the oil last if it hasn’t been fully used yet?” After completing a maintenance service, there’s often some oil left over. Typically, friends take this leftover oil home to store themselves and use it again at the next maintenance service. So, how should this half-bucket of oil stored at home be preserved? The causes of oil degradation: Let’s first take a look at what causes engine oil to degrade. The primary reason for oil degradation during storage is its exposure to oxygen, moisture, and impurities in the air. Therefore, once opened, engine oil must be stored in a tightly sealed container. 1. Oxygen: Engine oil consists of base oil and additives. Although base oil is generally quite stable, the heavier components within the oil are more susceptible to oxidation.
Whether hydraulic oil is good or bad depends mainly on this.
Viscosity is one of the primary factors that must be considered in hydraulic systems for construction machinery. Viscosity is an indicator of a fluid's flow performance, reflecting the magnitude of frictional resistance between molecules as the fluid flows. If the viscosity is too high, it will increase the flow resistance in pipelines, leading to greater energy losses during operation, increased no-load losses in the main unit, and a rise in temperature—potentially causing cavitation at the suction port of the main pump. On the other hand, if the viscosity is too low, it will fail to ensure adequate lubrication of mechanical components, accelerating wear and tear on parts and increasing system leakage, thereby reducing the volumetric efficiency of the pump. Even hydraulic oils with the same viscosity grade can differ from one another! The term "viscosity-temperature characteristic" refers to the degree to which a fluid's viscosity changes as the temperature rises or falls.

How to Choose Lubricating Oil in Winter
After winter sets in and the weather turns colder, maintaining proper lubrication with engine oil becomes a crucial factor in ensuring your vehicle runs smoothly. Car enthusiasts must pay close attention to this. So, how should we properly use engine oil during winter? Under suitable conditions, the lower the viscosity, the better. As the saying goes, “The most important thing in life is making the right choices”—and this holds true for engine oil as well. In winter, the lower the viscosity of the engine oil, the better—provided it still meets the requirements for normal lubrication of mechanical components. Normally viscous oils tend to become thicker and more viscous when temperatures drop in winter, reducing their fluidity and prolonging the time it takes for them to reach the parts that need lubrication. As a result, they fail to deliver optimal lubrication, potentially leading to vehicle problems.

Recently, many friends have called to ask whether it’s okay to mix lubricants of different specifications. Regarding this question, Mr. Qingjie feels it’s really necessary to provide a special explanation. Mixing lubricants can compromise their performance, causing your machinery to run in a “suboptimal” state without you even realizing it. In severe cases, this could even damage your equipment.
