Recently, as the peak of resuming work and returning home has arrived, many people may choose to drive themselves back home in response to the novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak. Some friends might overlook hygiene and epidemic prevention measures inside their vehicles. So, our editor has put together some vehicle防疫 guidelines—please study them carefully to protect your health! ↓↓↓

Key Summary: Small Tips for Car Use:
1. Wear a mask and improve ventilation.

Although the interior of a vehicle is relatively enclosed, it is still recommended to wear a mask to reduce droplet transmission—especially when traveling with multiple passengers! If you are riding with someone who has suspicious symptoms, in addition to wearing a medical surgical mask, try to maintain as much distance as possible from other passengers on board. Avoid using the air-conditioning’s internal recirculation mode and open the windows periodically for adequate ventilation.
2. Replace the air conditioning filter with a new one.

Choose a dual-effect air conditioner filter with PM2.5 filtration capability to effectively filter outdoor air. For vehicles equipped with an air purification system, be sure to activate the air conditioning purification system; if the system features negative ions or nano-water ion purification, turn those functions on as well.
3. Make good use of external circulation + implement reasonable ventilation

Based on actual driving conditions, manage the vehicle’s air intake accordingly. In environments with good air quality, you can appropriately open the windows or activate the external circulation mode.
4. Cleaning and Disinfection

After returning from a public place, disinfect your hands first with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer or disinfecting wipes.
After using the vehicle, disinfect the steering wheel, door handles, center console, gearshift lever, and seat belts with disinfectants containing chlorine or chlorine dioxide.
After family members, friends, or individuals with suspicious symptoms have traveled in the vehicle, disinfect any items they’ve come into contact with, including seat belts, door handles, interior door panels, seats, and the dashboard.
For vehicles coming from epidemic areas, in addition to the surface disinfection mentioned above, professional personnel should also clean and disinfect the air conditioning system.

Attention: Vehicles that have transported patients infected with the novel coronavirus should be disinfected by contacting the local disease control and prevention agency. Such vehicles are not recommended for use until they have been properly disinfected. If you have been in close contact with a COVID-19 patient, you should take proper personal protective measures and undergo 14 days of medical observation.
